Ryan and I were both born and raised in small town U.S.A. around cowboys and livestock.
When we graduated from small college U.S.A. we headed straight for the city ready for excitement and entertainment. Of course we loved every minute of it, but we figured out pretty quickly that what we didn't like about urban life was our neighbors living 3 feet from us and so we started looking for a little piece of land.
What we found was The Ranch in the City. Our blog is sarcastically named Ranch In The City because well, one can't have a ranch in the city, can he/she? (I love oxymorons.) Our ranch is not really a ranch at all with only 5 acres. However we feel extremely blessed to live so close to the city yet have some longhorn cattle and a place to roam.
We hang our hats in a small suburb of the DFW Metroplex and we are within 15 minutes of a SuperTarget, Banana Republic, Wal-Mart, Barnes & Noble, Starbucks, and everything else that one needs to survive. We live only 25 minutes away from downtown Fort Worth and 45 minutes away from downtown Dallas.
We staked our piece of paradise, The Ranch In The City, and now we use this blog to record our lives and share with you.
